Elon Musk set to Give Donald Trump $45 Million Dollars Monthly.
Elon Musk, the tech mogul, has announced plans to donate approximately $45 million each month to a new fund supporting Donald Trump’s bid for the US presidency, as reported by the Wall Street Journal on Monday.
The funds from Musk will be directed to a political group named America PAC. This organization aims to boost voter registration, encourage early voting, and promote mail-in ballots in crucial swing states in the lead-up to the November general election, according to the Journal, citing sources familiar with the initiative.
Musk is among several high-profile supporters of this new fund. Other notable backers include Palantir co-founder Joe Lonsdale, former US ambassador to Canada Kelly Craft, and cryptocurrency entrepreneurs Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss.
On Saturday, Musk officially endorsed Trump’s presidential campaign following an incident at a political rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, where Trump survived a shooting attempt.
“I fully endorse President Trump and hope for his rapid recovery,” Musk stated on X, the social media platform he purchased in 2022.
As the world’s richest individual, with an estimated net worth of $250 billion, Musk has developed a closer relationship with Trump during the 2024 US election cycle.
In March, the two had a face-to-face meeting at a donor breakfast held at the Florida home of billionaire Nelson Peltz.
Although US law caps individual campaign contributions at $3,300 per person, there are loopholes that allow substantial political donors to funnel money through political action committees (PACs) that support candidates.
Despite Trump’s earlier criticisms of mail and absentee voting, he has revised his stance, recognizing that Democrats have a significant advantage among mail-in voters.
